Tim McGraw has been compelled to withdraw from his scheduled performance at the Last Cowboy Standing event on July 21, 2025, at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado. The country music star, aged 58, underwent recent back surgery, leading to the cancellation of his appearance. Organizers have announced that Cross Canadian Ragweed, an Oklahoma-based band renowned in Red Dirt music, will headline the opening night of this groundbreaking sports and entertainment event. They expressed sincere apologies to fans and extended their best wishes to McGraw for a swift recovery .

McGraw’s health challenges began during his 2024 Standing Room Only tour when he experienced knee issues early into the tour. Subsequently, he underwent double knee replacement surgery. While recovering from these procedures, McGraw’s back problems resurfaced, necessitating additional back surgeries. In a candid interview, he revealed that he had undergone multiple surgeries over the past several months and admitted that there were times he considered retiring due to the severity of his health issues .

Despite these setbacks, McGraw’s band made a triumphant return to the stage on May 31, 2025, headlining the Music City Rodeo in Nashville.
